Colours for winter

It’s been very snowy and grey in London for the past week or so and almost every one have been dressing up as the weather dictates, which means dull greys and blacks. I refuse to accept this as a code of dressing in winter, seriously, colours make people happy, therefore, I was really pleased when my colleague Ania (you all are familiar with her now) came to work in her brightly coloured yet winter appropriate outfit and make-up. The first thing I spotted was her lipstick, which was unfortunately an absolute fail on my skin tone or else it would have become ‘my precious’.

Here we go…

Layering a high collared white shirt (similar here or here) with a nude coloured jumper (here), nicely paired with floral trousers (similar here) and ankle boots. Also loving her choice of accessories, arm candy not over done, laying emphasising on the gold collar necklace (primark). The wow factor was the colour popping fuchsia lipstick she was wearing, I think she aced the look, making it a perfect transitional look from autumn to winter by simply adding a thick winter coat (not sure why she hasn’t got it..? Ha! it was only a 2 sec photo shoot) and chunky scarf to keep the cold out.

Fashion lesson:

1. You don’t have to conform with trends or dress codes to look fabulous, set your style and there’s sure to be people who would admire and find you unique and inspiring for it.

2. Bring summer to winter by mixing and layering transferable pieces for warmth, in this way, you get to wear your favourites for longer.

Thank you Ania for gradually taking over my blog, I’m sure you know I genuinely like your style (only when you wear nice stuff) :P .

What do you think? Would you wear your summer trend in the winter if so, what summer piece (s) are you still wearing over winter?

Thank you for stopping by.

Banx & Ania

  1. Fantastic! And I totally agree about colors making us happy. (Black may seem more sophisticated, and I can’t deny its practicality in winter, but does it make us happy??) Great look, Ania!
